This is a feature created by Jessi over at Novel Heartbeat. Each week there will be a non-book-related topic that we can discuss. This is to give us a chance to get to know each other better(:
This week's topic is

Favorite movies

I don't watch a lot of movies rate PG-13 and up. My parents always tell me that such and such movie is "not appropriate for kids." Which is sad, trust me, I know. But such is life.

Growing up, I loved watching

 Jurassic Park

Charlie's Angels 2

What Dreams May Come

The irony here is that these are all PG-13. And I was watching them when I was five. I'm not even kidding. Granted, I had no idea what was going on at the time. Because when I saw them again a couple years ago? Wow, I never knew. I still like them, though. Particularly Jurassic Park and What Dreams May Come.

I am a huge fan of Disney and Pixar movies. I am dying to go watch Frozen. It just looks so cute!
I don't know if I can choose my favorite, but here are the top 5:

1. Wreck It Ralph
2. Beauty and the Beast
3. Up
4. The Little Mermaid 2
5. The Lion King 2

Some others that I really like:

I Am Legend

The Blind Side

World War Z

The Hunger Games

Catching Fire
I freakin loved this one! Seriously, I had high expectations and it totally went above and beyond! The special effects, the characters, the costumes, the arena... it blew my mind. I cannot wait for Mockingjay.

The Lorax

Madagascar 3

Tangled

The Host
I was actually pretty impressed by this one. They skipped A LOT. But I think they did a good job with what they did include. So I was pleasantly surprised.

Some I want to see:

Beastly

Vampire Academy

Mockingjay

The Hobbit

Watchmen

Divergent

The Book Thief

Generally speaking, there isn't a particular movie genre that I like. I'm about as random with my movies as I am with my books. I love thrillers. I love sci-fi. I love post-apocalyptic stuff. But I also love contemporary, or spiritual, or whatever. Mostly, I love thought-provoking stuff.
But I could use comedies every now and then.
So! What kinds of movies do you like?(:

  1. Frozen is really good! It's probably one of Disney's best movies. I also have to agree that Catching Fire was sooo good. It was everything I expected, but better.

The PG-13 thing is a little strict, but I get it. My mom had a huge issue with her 11 year old watching 14A. That was until we watched Mean Girls, Black Swan, and The Hangover together (I know, awkward) and now I kind of watch what I want. I don't watch many movies in general though. :p

    1. I wrote this post before I saw Frozen. But I did watch it a couple days ago and it is AMAZING. The music and characters and the whole concept was outstanding. I definitely think it's one of the best, too.

As for the PG-13 thing. I get it, but that doesn't make it any less frustrating. I'm over 13, shouldn't I be able to watch PG-13 movies?
I'm over 14, too. And my parents would never let me watch those movies you mentioned -.-
I don't watch too many movies, either. So when I'm told I can't watch this or that it's...annoying.

Thanks for stopping by though! I didn't mean to rant aha.

  2. Jurassic Park! Beauty & the Beast! Lion King! <333
I want to see Divergent too, I'm very curious and excited to see how they do the world. I'm not even remotely interested in the Vampire Academy movie because I hated the book >.< I was the black sheep on that one!

    1. Yes, yes, and yes!
I'm currently reading Divergent and already I'm trying to figure out the similarities between the book and the previews I've been seeing, haha. Sorry you didn't like it :/ I read it right after I read Twilight so that's probably why I liked it so much. If it helps, Rose does change a lot over the course of the series. But um, I hated the ending so I couldn't convince you to continue. I would read Bloodlines though! At least give it a shot (: I like Sydney a helluva lot more than I ever liked Rose.
