Weird title, right?
I agree.
Anyways, there is a reason for this insane laughter that I have to urge to do, but seeing as my sister is in the room with me, I do not wish to scare her.
But I'll explain WHY I want to laugh so insanely.
First of all, OMIGOSH! BEAUTY AND THE BEAST! Comes out in 7 days!!!!! :D
So, I'm exciting about that.
No Ordinary Family premieres today at 8 on ABC 7. It won't be FlashForward, but it'll be good enough for now. Until they bring FlashForward back. Which they will because it was so awesome. And if they don't..... Well, they better. >: - >
(I do not know what that is supposed to look like, by the way.)
I also have a project due in one week. :/ But I'm getting it done. Kind of. You know me. :D
I also have a BIG project due the 14th (Reading To Be A Slave). But I made an agreement with my parents. See, I want to invite some friends over next Friday (Oct. 8) so that we could all watch Beauty and the Beast together. My parents said that if I finish this major project before the 8th, I'll be over to invite them over. So, I've read Chapter 1, almost done with Chapter 2. I did 13 out of 25 vocab words. I call that progress considering I did this in almost 2 days. :)
So, I'm doing good. Right now I'm taking a little bit of a break to babysit my sister. So, I'll be back tomorrow. Because of my sudden hunger, No Ordinary Family, and this map I have to finish.
(Today's philosophical (?) rant....)
Also, I am reading a book about a suicidal girl. How nice, right? I've read about one or two other books about suicide. And they really scare me, but I gotta admit, they're pretty good.
I mean, it's scary to see how these people just give up so easily. Really scary. Yet so intriguing. I have to admit that I love the parts about the family's reaction. Because that's the proof that they were wrong when they thought no one loved them and life wasn't worth living.
It really is. It's so worth it.
You live through the pain and the stress.
You live through the hatred and unfairness.
And of course it's hard.
You live through it so that when something good happens, it seems like a miracle. Because it is.
The day you notice that there are so many, many people who love you.
The day you realize that life is a wonderful gift.
That you are so lucky and gifted.

And I guess there are people who can't handle the pain or the stress. That's why there are so many suicides every year.
But they are so wrong.
Maybe I'm a lot more religious than I think I am.
Or maybe I've just read so many books about what life is all about....
Maybe that's it.
I'm all about my books. About what they meant to me.
They aren't just words.
They MEAN something to me.
Marley and Me. That is my all-time favorite book. Because it's so real. The ups and downs of life.
It's why I love Sarah Dessen and Jodi Picoult and Nicholas Sparks and Laurie Halse Anderson so much.
It's all so real. It's life.
Life happens.
Unless, of course, you're dead.
Then it wouldn't really matter, anyway, right?
And I guess that's the sad part.
If you're dead, you can't enjoy life.
It's worth living.
If it's not, then it will be.
You just gotta be patient.

A song by Rascal Flatts and currently one of my favorites.
As it turns out, what hurts the most was not being so close, havin' so much to say, and watchin' you walk away.
What hurts the most is knowing that you have not posted in 24 days.
That's what hurts. Especially if blogging was just a given.
And I won't make excuses. But I will tell you why I haven't been blogging.

You know I'm back to school when I'm still up at 10:30 working on a project. Not that it really bugs me. I could be working on a project, or laying in bed waiting to fall asleep. At least, after I finish, I'll be so tired from thinking that I'll just fall asleep.
So, I'm getting through. Like I always do. Which means A's. And A's. And A's. So far, at least. Later on I might get a B. Maybe a C in science. But I'll have so many A's that it won't matter. I will get straight A's on my report card. "With God as my witness" I will. (By the way, that's a line from I Caught Myself by Paramore)
So, remember those book reviews I was talking about? It might take me a lot longer to finish those up.
Also, I'm trying to get back into my writing. I've gotten so many ideas recently. It makes me want to get back to writing. So, I'll start after I publish this post.

Recently, I've read:
Hunger (Gone #2) by Michael Grant
Lies (Gone #3) by Michael Grant
Spells (Wings #2) by Aprilynne Pike
Living on Impulse by Cara Haycak
A Curse Dark As Gold by Elizabeth C. Bunce (finished ten minutes ago)

And I am currently reading nothing. (*gasp!*) I need to go to the library.

And I am currently obsessing about:

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST!!!!! It's being re-released on October 5!!!!! Which is my half-birthday!!!! :D (Whenever I say that people look at me funny. Are you looking at the screen funny? Cause I'm mostly kidding. But I am getting Beauty and the Beast the day it comes out. Just you see.)

Which does not come out until November 2011. But that doesn't mean I can't obsess about it. Basically, it's a spin-off series of Avatar: The Last Airbender. And you all know how much I love that. So, yes I'm excited. unfortunately, everybody is dead because TLOK takes place 70-75 years after TLA. So, the new avatar is a waterbender named Korra. She is the reincarnation of Aang. Everybody else is dead. Unless everybody reincarnates. But that would be kind of hard to tell. Anyways, guess what! Aang and Katara have a kid!!!! *SHRIEK!* I laughed when I found out. All those Zutara (Zuko and Katara) fans will be disappointed. But they had a son named Tenzin. And he's a master airbender. So, Korra is gonna be learning airbending from him. Cool, right? :D

Anyways, yesterday there was a birthday party for my little cousin. Speaking of, Steph's quinceanera was AWESOME! Love being her cousin. :D
But I went to another cousin's birthday party. On the other side of the family. She turned 4 and she's so cute!
So, we got to play some lazer tag. And it was really fun. I sucked, and had no idea what I was doing, but it was still fun. :D

I figured I would start my long list of book reviews with Mockingjay.
Because it's the last book in the Hunger Games trilogy. You won't have to wait months for any of the books to come out, because they're all out.
But still very sad. For all those Hunger Games fans. It was an amazing series.
Sometimes I wish it didn't end.
But it did.
And no way to stop that from happening.
By the way, this may or may not contain spoilers. So, if you haven't read Catching Fire, don't read this review.
But if you don't plan on reading it anyway, I guess it doesn't matter, right?

So, here you go:

Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins.
Hardcover, 398 pages.
Last book in the Hunger Games trilogy.

My name is Katniss Everdeen. Why am I not dead? I should be dead.

Katniss Everdeen, girl on fire, has survived, even though her home has been destroyed. Gale has escaped. Katniss's family is safe. Peeta has been captured by the Capitol. District 13 really does exist. There are rebels. There are new leaders. A revolution is unfolding.

It is by design that Katniss was rescued from the arena in the cruel and haunting Quarter Quell, and it is by design that she has long been part of the revolution without knowing it. District 13 has come out of the shadows and is plotting to overthrow the Capitol. Everyone, it seems, has had a hand in the carefully laid plans -- except Katniss.

The success of the rebellion hinges on Katniss's willingness to be a pawn, to accept responsibility for countless lives, and to change the course of the future of Panem. To do this, she must put aside her feelings of anger and distrust. She must become the rebels' Mockingjay -- no matter what the personal cost.

Story: So, it takes place a few weeks after the end of Catching Fire. And if you've read it, you know that it ended with a really BIG cliffhanger. With Gale saying:
"There is no District 12."
Oooooo.... scary, right?
It was one of the best/ worst cliffhangers ever, if you know what I mean.
So, District 12 has been destroyed. And in the beginning of Mockingjay, Katniss is at District 12. To see what had happened to it.
And it's completely destroyed, just like Gale said. Everything if burned down, except for the Victor's Village. About 90% of the people from 12 are dead. The rest were relocated to District 13. Which had survived for 75 years without aid from the Capitol. Not many knew it even existed. Until now, of course.
So, now comes the main part of the story. The reason they saved Katniss from the arena in Catching Fire.
They want her to be the Mockingjay.
To be the face of the Revolution.

Characters: So, Mockingjay is told from Katniss's point of view. Which is good, because I would've thought something was up if it was from Gale's or Peeta's or suddenly her mother's. That would have been weird. And a definite warning sign, in my opinion.
Anyways, that love triangle is still going on. Yay! Who doesn't love a good love triangle? :)
Will Katniss choose Gale? Will she choose Peeta? Or will she choose neither? *Gasp!*
Of course, I know. I've known all along. But I won't tell you. :P
So, Katniss Everdeen is back. And Gale Hawthorne. And Peeta Mellark. And Finnick Odair. And even Johanna Mason. And of course, you have Prim and her mother. You have Haymitch Abernathy. And Plutarch Heavensbee. And President Snow.
Lots of people are back. And lots of new people are introduced.
And I won't lie to you.
A lot of them die.
But, of course, I won't tell you who. :P

My Thoughts:
I loved The Hunger Games. Catching Fire was just as good, if not better.
And Mockingjay went beyond any expectations I had.
And I had very high expectations.
And overall? I loved the series. I loved the idea and the way Suzanne Collins carried it out.
But this is just about Mockingjay.
So, I loved it. It has to be my favorite book in the entire series. Because it was amazing. And the way it ended was totally unexpected.
Unless, of course, you expected it from the beginning. ;)
It was written is amazing detail. I could see everything happening. Which, with books, is a very good thing.
It was dramatic. There was a ton of action. Too many deaths to count. And every time, I almost cried. I'm still trying to figure out how I didn't. I think it was all too shocking. All too unexpected. All too GOOD. I couldn't put it down.
I took me a total of about 6 hours to read it. Spread out throughout the course of two days. Last Thursday and Friday.
So, yes I loved this book. I think it was the perfect sequel to Catching Fire. And an amazing way to end a series.
And I loved it. It had the Perfect Mix: action, suspense, romance, drama, and death.
The death part might sound a little bit harsh, but you have to admit that it is an essential element when writing a book.
It makes the story more interesting. And if you kill a character or two, and people cry, it shows how well you created that character. Pretty good, huh?
So I really recommend this series. To anybody. Young or old or somewhere in the middle.
And it's good for both boys and girls.
It's got everything, and therefore it's for everyone.
Although I would say, if you're under 12, don't read it.
One, you might not fully understand or appreciate it.
Two, it's graphic. Even if it is a book.
So, I hope you take my advice and read the book. I know what I'm talking about 90% of the time.
And FYI, I am right 99.9%. It's a gift.

Special message to Stephanie:

Based on the song Ordinary Day by Vanessa Carlton.
Aren't I so clever? :D
Speaking of clever, check this out:
SHIVER in anticipation.
LINGER for more.
Waiting FOREVER.

Shiver is a book by Maggie Stiefvater.
Linger is the sequel.
Forever is the last book in the trilogy, coming out next July.

Now do you get it? :D

Anyways, I finished Hunger. It was good. :)
So, now I'm on Lies. The third book in the Gone series.
Next is Plague.
Don't know if there's anything after that. :/

Anyways, still polishing up some reviews.
Will be posting a few. Hopefully tomorrow.
I've been helping my mom at her work.
She's a kindergarten teacher. I helped her make packets and sort stuff and things like that.
It is very tiring.
Not being a teacher. Not in this lifetime.
Or any other lifetime. :/

Anyways, got to go.
Have a good rest of the day.
